Beyond Binary artist Asri Wulandari in conversation with art historian Dr. Kathy Zarur

Friday, October 14th, 12:30 to 1:30pm in the Fine Arts Gallery

Asri Wulandari is a Bay Area based visual artist. As an artist, at the intersection of multiple identities as a refugee, queer, trans muslim of color, Asri’s work embraces the internal and external forces that can create, transform and undo identity. Asri works in a wide range of media including video, performance, and digital images. In many of their works, quotidian materials such as hair, make-up, burqas and flowers unfold into rich references to continual transformation. (source: performingartsworkshop.org)
